Hello, I've just bought a Dual zone motion sensor (DEI 508D). The thing is that I don't wanna put it in the floor (in the center) cause somebody in the back seat could step it on. So I would like to know if it would be proper to mount it on the roof (in the center of the roof, looking downwards).

Any comment, suggestion?

Thanks...

Best regards.

Ricky.

You are lucky that you live where you live. The weather remains mostly the same. DRY, correct? These devices are sensative to the density of the air.

Depending on the type of car (wich you kinda should have posted) depends on the "ideal" place to mount the sensor. Center console is best. under some part of the console (plastic). I wouldn't advize you to mount it on the roof. But thats just me!

alot of installers actually recommend putting it above on the ceiling near the light "outlet"

ive always had good luck mounting them under the center console as described above.  just install it so you can get to the adjustment dials without having to rip half your car apart.

Hello, I did not post my car because it is not know in the USA.

it is a Ford KA, it is something like a brazilian car imported to Mexico or something of the kind.

Very small car, but great in this city full of cars since the cars from the US are allowed here.

So... getting back on our issue... The most of the time is dry but lots of hot, right now is kinda cold but not that much...

So I think I'm going to mount it on the center of the ceiling.

Well this car doesn't have the center console...

I think it is an additional accesory... thats the reason why I don't wanna put it where the center console should be, somembody could step on it..

BUt... in case it would have a center console... that means... beneath the plastic console.... it works fine anyway?

Funny I thought they were Spanish! The ones we get are. Chuck it into the roof lining behind interior light switch, you might have to remove some foam but at least you can get to it easily to adjust it. Regards.

hello man, it is also called KA in the UK?...

I've installed it in the center of the roof then I adjusted the sensitivity and it really worked out amazing, I liked a lot the functioning of the sensor, even more than installing it in the center console, besides, easily accesible to adjust it, besides no one see it above there.
