reieved 6 of these units for install.I have installed quite a few of these this season.the first 2 I did on a 2003 f250 diesel and a 2004 f350 diesel both fords ez install and programed for diesel time delay not wait to start.the next box I opened has only 4 programmable features and not 21 like the others which means no diesel wait to start timer feature 12.did I get beat are these old units.I still did the install on a 2000 f350 diesel just used wait to start.

4 or 14?

The newer 561Rs have 21 features, the older ones had 14.  The older ones also did not offer a wait to start timer, only the wait to start input.  I would not say you got hosed, because it really depends on the stock that the supplier had on the shelf, and to my knowledge DEI did not let anyone know which version they were getting when they were ordered.

I am sorry that was a typo 14 .as a follow up I put a 1 amp diode on the 561 wait to start wire with the band facing away from the 561,is that correct?I know they have direct fax 1090 but I was having a brain freeze and did not get it. thanks
