I have a Compustar 2W900FMR installed in a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
The remote worked great until a couple of weeks ago. Once in a while the alarm will go off and the remote is indicating that the hood is open. I am not to sure what the problem could be so any help would be great. Thank you.

Hood pin switch move on you or break? You'll have to check to make sure when you close the hood it is pressing down enough on the pin switch to break the contact and open the ground path to the module...

For the Silverado truck I always mount the hood pin switch up at the driver's side hinge mount where it's flat. This is a great place out of the elements & also it will depress the pin everytime.

thats the magic spot. Listen to Velocity. If you continue to have this problem you can also unplug the hood pin until you can make a appintment for a replacement. The remote start will still work. Word
"dont ground out!"

Go to your local electronics shop that does alarm systems and they will have one for you. It should be cheap.... like $ 2 or less.
