hey all

ive just bought the asianwolf 8000rs alarm which comes with a keypad starter kill

http://asianwolf.com/alarmpackages/alarmpackages.html

first one on the page

and hooked up everthing, alaram and keypad kill works perfectly

my only problem is the keypad has one blue wire left not connected on the manual

it says connect to alarm, but i dont know to which wire to connect it to the alarm

now whem my car is armed i can run the car if i enter the correct code for the starter kill

but ofcourse my alarm will go off.

what i want is : nobody can use the keypad and start the car if its armed.

or something like my car wont run if its armed , like the relays they use

but i want my keypad to be connected to the alarm, when its armed even enterin the right code wont

run the car.

the keypad has 5 wires and a relay

the manual says like this ..

white to white on terminal 86 of the relay    and yellow wire on terminal 86 to ignition wire

green to orange on terminal 85 of the relay

red to 12v constant                //// black wire terminal 30 of the relay to main starter wire (cut in half)

black to ground                       ////  black wire terminal 87 of the relay to starter wire on the ignition switch

blue to alarm

to which wire on the alarm i need to connect this blue wire ???

thanx in advance

thnx for your reply

i actualy had the same thought and wired the blue wire to the orange on the 20 pin harness

but that did nothin,, the kepad still works while armed and when i enter the code i can still run the vehicle

thats confusin me,, coz i did all the wiring accordin to manuals

and i double checked thr wires and the harnesses again today. and all was good and perfect

that orange wire should disable the keypad, rightt? or am i missin somethin here ??

thnx again

Voltmeter your orange wire (off the Asianwolf alarm brain 20 pin harness) and see if it's producing a good ground signal.  If it is, then test the keypad functionality by grounding it to the chassis -- then see if it still allows you to start the car even if the car is armed.  Seems like your wiring is correct.

Is the orange wire connected to anything else at this point (besides the blue wire)?

is this your keypad?

http://www.apogeekits.com/PDF_Files/Ignition_Cutoff_Manual.pdf

If so, then you can just tie terminal 85 (orange wire of starter kill relay) to the ORANGE wire of the AsianWolf.

i checked that orange wire, and yess it priovides ground when armed

but the keypad is already grounded with its black wire

I just wanted you to test the blue wire by grounding it to the chassis -- the keypad itself is grounded via the black wire, yes.  However, the internal circuitry of the keypad "should" read a -500mA (i.e. ground) charge from the blue wire (which is getting it from the AW orange wire) and then tell the keypad internals that it should defeat the keypad functionality during "armed" state, like you wanted.  However, since this is not working, just try the above suggestion:

Tie in the orange wire of the Asianwolf to the orange wire of the keypad. That way, both the keypad code AND the asianwolf disarming have to take place before the car will be able to be started (i.e. the starter relay connects the circuit b/w the split starter factory starter wire).

well, i did as u suggested and tested the wire

but nothin worked, so i went to another route

to build a starter kill relay as suggested here

https://www.the12volt.com/relays/page2.asp#sk1

did it according to the Normally Closed Starter Kill Relay diagram

that worked but the funny thing is , when the car is armed u can run the car

but when its disamred the car wont run. so its the exact opposite of this relaly in my situation

have i done somethin wrong ???

and agian i really thank you very much

your much appreciated

:)

swap your 87a and 87 terminals on the starter kill relay you built based on the diagram you posted.

Meaning, take the wire from 87a and put it on 87 and vice versa -- then, when you're armed, it'll be a starter kill situation, and when you're disarmed, you'll be able to start the car.
