Hi ! I am getting ready to install a R/S in the wifes Toyota Rav4. It has factory keyless entry. Since it has factory keyless does this mean immobilizer and I need to get a bypass module. Will there be a "security of theft"  light in the dash ?   Are the 04 wire colors good for the 05 as well?   Thanks for your time  !!!!

04 and 05 have the same wiring.  I believe the immobilizer was an option, even though it has keyless entry.  If it has the immobilizer then you'll need the bypass.  Make sure you power up the keysense wire on remote start, this'll disarm the factory alarm if you have one.

Good Luck.

05 Rav4
You will need a bypass.
You can either give up a key and use a universal bypass, or highly recommended, using a keyless type- bypasskit has XKO5 that needs to be flashed to PKT2.

If im not mistaken howie the XK05 are made by http://www.xpressdownload.com/  Basically these kits are interchangeble as in you have to upload software to the appropriate vehicle platform to make them work.  I would assume that the Eurpoean versions are the same as american and therefore two keys are needed sometimes to program only.  Several companies make them like DATALINK, DEI now with the 1100x and F, Fortin(no software change, just a lot of vehicle applications with their bypasses), Trilogix which is now owned by DEI as of last week I think.  Personally I love the Fortin bypasses which to me are super reliable and affordable,  Great thing about bypasses like XK05 are that you can change the software of the bypass to whichever vehicle your workin on but they are more expense.  Try Fortin like I mentioned earlier, they are coming out with the KEY-OVERRIDE-ALL which works almost on any car and also their " INT-BMW1" which work on BMW;s from 2004-2007 and push start compatible!!!! See if this is helpfull buddy

It is extremely rare for a RAV4 to have an immobilizer key. Any way you could post a picture of your key? Do you have a key that is all metal?

Unlikely that it has an immobilizer .. but if you're unsure, run to a hardware store and make a duplicate of your RAV4 key and try the duplicate in the ignition -- if it starts up, no immobilizer.
