I purchased an 2003 Honda S2000 with an Aladdin A-2000 Alarm System. Everything works great with exception of the remote start. The gentleman that had it previously said the remote start work up until he took it in for a new battery. Now, all it does when I press the remote start button is: your hear the fuel pump come on and the lights from the gauge cluster come on, but it never starts.

I have read the owners manuel and follow all steps to insure that it is "remote start" set, when i exit the car and even then I still am unsuccessful.

You may have to re-learn the tach setting on the alarm brain -- this will require you back to the manual and determine how to do this.  How many times does it "attempt" to remote start? one, two, three?

He probably lost the tach programming when they replaced the battery OR the immobilizer bypass module lost ITS programming and the car won't crank without a key signal being programmed.

You can try this to rule out the immobilizer bypass --> put a key in the ignition cylinder, but do not turn it on (i realize that the s2k is push button start, but you have to turn the key to ignition on before you can do so, correct?) Now, remote start the car and see if it starts up.

Also, since your aladdin is set to Manual transmission mode (hopefully), make sure the E-brake is up, and the shifter is in neutral before you remote start.

Tired it and no luck.

i tried it with the key in both the "1" and "2" position unsuccesful.

I sounds like it tries a total of 3 times...the one i press and twice on its own.

Owners manual doesnt show how to reprogram

Install manual for Aladdin A-2000
Programming the Tach Signal
Notes:
- This procedure is not necessary if the remote start is set to
sense the alternator.
- If the system is set to sense the tach, verify that DIP switch
#1 on the main module is set to the OFF position before
continuing.
1. In Valet mode, start the vehicle.
2. Press and release the ‘E’ button on the remote control
slowly three times. With each press, the siren or horn
should beep once.
After the third press, the siren or horn should emit a long
beep followed by a short beep. This indicates that the system
is in the tach learning mode.
After five seconds, the siren or horn should beep once,
indicating that the system has learned the tach setting.
Note: If the siren or horn beeps twice, this indicates that the
system did not learn the tach setting. Exit programming, verify
the proper wire and connection, and repeat the tach learning procedure.
3. Turn the ignition off to exit programming.
Press to learn
remote control
Note: You Always Dont Get What You Pay For.

Alright people,

I reprogrammed the remote start and had it relearn the tach signal, went through all the steps and based on all the beeps, I can say that I did it right.

The new issue now is, my car wont stay ON after I turn off the IGN. I followed the steps in the manual and reprogrammed the setting that allows the car to stay on and it still doesnt work. Keeping the car on, after exiting the car is a crucial step to setting the car for Remote Start.

I got up this morning and attempted to get this issue fixed. I reprogrammed the tach signal...IT SAYS IT LEARNED IT based on the number of beeps and what not! I also got the car to stay on after exiting, follow all the steps to "remote start set" and still nothing...? I wonder if its a wiring problam, although I doubt it since the previous owner told me it stopped working after the battery change?

what does it do now when you attempt to remote start it?  Still three times with the ignition dash lights coming on and then going off?
