I am trying to get the illuminated entry to work. The Astra 50 is supposed to have a built in relay for it. My wiring info for 1993 S10 Blazer says the door trigger is the pin switch (white wire) but when I hook it up there nothing happens. Is my truck a negative or positive trigger (says negative in my info) or am I just hooking it to the wrong place? Anybody know??

all door trigger is a BLACK/ white wire (-) negative at the top of the fusebox

Did  you voltmeter the domelight output wire on the Astra?  Does it show 0.00 volts when you disarm the alarm? If it does, it may not be a strong enough ground signal to trigger the door trigger -- try hooking it up to a separate SPDT relay as follows:

85: output wire (domelight) from astra 50

86: 12 volts fused positive (3 amp fuse)

30: chassis ground

87: connect to door trigger wire on s10

Have you tried the white wire at the underdash bulb. This also serves as a door trigger.  It's negative.

I think I may still need to hook up an additional relay. Can I do any damage by hooking up a relay? It says in the manual that it has an onboard jumper selectable relay built in and it also says the default is negative.  I have tried hooking it to both the door pin and the bulb under the dash (both were white wires) but neither one seems to do anything.

test the output wire on the brain -- see what the voltage is when you diarm the brain (i.e. when the dome lock should go on)

the astra 50 has a built in relay for dome light output. and its a solid ground so you dont need a relay. check the manual to make sure you have the right wire b/c the astras i've been installing lately have 3 black wires a BLACK / YELLOW BLACK/ gray and a black so make sure you have the right wire and if you do just stick your red meter lead to 12v and black meter lead to the alarm wire and hit unlock on the remote if nothing happens take it back to the dealer after you check the internal jumpers to make sure they are correct, somebody else may have switched it if you got it second hand or something. does the domelight work to begin with ?
the best part of a job is seeing the bumper get smaller over the horizon
