I get a discount on alarms from DEI. Which pretty much makes most alarms on the market. I was thinking about getting a python 902 alarm/keyless, what do you guys think? Are the gps tracking alarms worth the cost, and do they have a monthly fee? The alarm is for a 07 Mustang. Thanks

The 902 is a pretty nice system. The cool thing about it is that if you add any extra sensors the remote will display what sensor was tripped. The only real downside to it is that it is on the ASK platform. In my opinion the 990 is a nicer setup. You get one mile range and the remotes work way better. If your car is a 5 speed you just wouldnt hook up the rs portion of the unit or I believe that dei has a new manual transmission piece coming out to allow rs on a 5 speed.
As far as the gps tracking goes, you just have to decide if it is something that you need. Basically there is no monthly cost you just pay an upfront cost for the plan you choose. They offer one, two, or three year plans. You can go to pythoncarsecurity.com and read about the cost of the plans as well as the features.

After reviewing the install manuals for those alarms/rs i must say they are very installer friendly.  Only thing I dont like so far is that the pager that i saw on the website looks down right ugly.  Sorry but thats the only things I dont like about it.  I'm planning to carry that line when the shop opens soon.

Ya my car is a 5 speed, so not sure if I would hook up the r/s unless I get the new module for it. If its out yet. Ok so now it's between the python 902 and python 990...which I like more since it has 1 mile pager and responder sst. Couldn't find out if the 902 had responder sst or not. It just says Responder-which I guess pages you if someone is stealing your car. Also dei doesn't say how far the 902 remote works from vehicle.

Dude, didn't you say in an earlier post that you worked for circuit city? Don't you trust the installers? They should be able to answer any questions that you have about DEI products.

Ya I work at Circuit City, but I don't like any of my installers, they are all stuck up. And not very helpful when I ask ?'s They act like they are better than everyone else. So that's why I come on here and ask ?'s. No I don't trust the installers their because I have seen them break so many customers cars and ghetto rig doodie it's not even funny. I will be installing this alarm on my own.

If you have never installed an alarm system before, I strongly urge you DO NOT attempt an install on your 2007 Mustang.. it is not the simplest of vehicles. Ive perfromed thousands of installs on just about every car under the sun... and i still do not like working on the new mustangs.. they take me some time, and i typically average 40 minutes per alarm.

Go to a local shop, by the system from them and get it done.

Ya know euro.... I would LOVE to see the 40 min. alarm install. (during, and after the install)

I have worked in the window tint business for Y E A R S.... and allways heard of the idiots doin 10/12 cars a day. The film reps sayin... "oh ya, they do a great job too" B.S.

I can spot a car that was 1 of the guys 12 in a day, a mile away.

Does your 40 min. include pre-install bench time? does it include the dismantling and the putting back together of the car itself?

I can see how your t-taps could come in handy!

The proper door pins are in the SJB on the passenger side. That thing alone is a 10 min. job to drop.

To get the bottom of the dash down....you start at the center console for Gods sake.

Come on..... 40 min.???   REALLY?

Isn' the 902 JUST an alarm?
