I was interested in adding a fob to my car that would work very similarly to the one found with the new Maximas (enables keyless from door and push button start when you come in range). I have no problem with wiring this up but I cannot seem to find a RF or Bluetooth device out there that has the things I need. The two big needs are:

A) Large enough range that I do not have to take the fob/card out of my pocket (maybe 2 or 3 feet)

B) Some sort of output (- or +) to enable everything once the fob/card comes in range

Has anyone heard of such a device or know where I can get something similar? Let me know what you have seen.

Yes, there is a remote starter (I'll look up the brand/model) produced in China that apparently has proximity sense for it's keyfob .. it's LOADED with other features and has been posted on this forum before .. it's 2-way, etc... i'll look it up

As far as independent unit that'll specifically provide the two functions you're looking for .. haven't heard of anything like that.

The search function is your friend.

Actually looks like a pretty nifty system.  Wether or not it actually works is another thing

I'm not a professional installer. But I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express.
