Hello, I'm new to this forum.

I'm installing an APS996a remote start/alarm in a 97 Audi A8 and I'm stuck in a couple of areas.

1. I cant seem to find the door trigger wire in the driver kick panel.

2. Some features of the remote says the power windows can be remotely controlled, and the power seat memory can be controlled. Either I'm not getting it, or the owners manual does not tell you how to program these features. Regarding the remote power window feature, since the A8 has the feature built in by turing and holding the key in the door lock, I was told that I could program the unit to emitt the door lock/unlock pulse signal for a longer duration. This is what I was trying to figure out how to program. I was also told that I may have to use a seperate channel, program that channel for a long pulse duration, and diode it to the door lock/unlock wire.

Can anyone shed light on this for me? Hope this post was not too long.

The door trigger if you can't find in the kick you may need to run a wire up to dome light. Figure out if it is positive or negative trigger and wire to that wire on alarm.

If you want some additional features, additional parts may be required. Window roll up module will control the windows and roll them up without sending a longer pulse to door locks (which may be bad for locks).
