Hi EveryOne-

I decided to install my first alarm after joining this site a couple weeks ago..

I bought me an El-cheapo / chinese branded alarm of ebay for $60delivered.

All went well except i couldnt find where to wire up to my turn signals

I pulled the dash apart looking for that little noisy flasher underneath the glove box, Found it ok but could not get to the wires. Anyway as it was nearly dark i ended up wiring to the vehicle parker lights instead......I didnt realise till it got dark that all the instrument and dash lights * flash on and off * with my parker lights as well....ooops..

i thought id better do some more research on the 12volt and have another go at it tomorrow.

I found a few posts but all say to find the flasher relay,,,,

Is there an easier way to wire into the turn signal lights?? The brain has 2 Single fused relay Wires for the flashers, the car is a 93 lexus es300 (japan version, Steering Wheel on the Right Side of the Vehicle) Any Help would be much appreciated,

Using the parking light circuit is how we hook up the majority of systems here. Actually most of the systems sold here in the US do not have 2 outputs for light confirmation. When we have a vehicle that requires separate left and right light hookups it requires some more wiring. You should have no problems if you leave it hooked up the way you have it now.
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

thanks for the reply Twelvoltz 93 lexus es300, alarm -- posted image.

The majority of vehicle security alarms ive seen in Australia have turn signal confirmation, and are not wired to the parker lights circuit,

i may have wired to the wrong sub-circuit in the parker lights as when i open any door the instument cluster including the hacv cluster lights and lights in the Tbar  all flash with the parker lights. I dont think this is how it should be??

Cant i just have the front and rear parker lights without the dashboard and instrument panel flashing also??93 lexus es300, alarm -- posted image.

Great site btw, diagrams are easy to read and a wealth of information is available,, great for both DiY and the Vehicle Electronics Expert

Wires to signals of turn have green \black and green \yellow colors. They can be found in a plait of wires from the right party.

Kola is right with the colours, also found in loom at steering column or r/hand floor loom  in r/hand drive models; Note for 12voltz, US is only place to flash the sidelights because rest of world uses amber front and rear indicators. Make sure the light output circuit on that alarm will handle at least 15amps, has a positive output and if only one divide it with 2 x 1n 5400 series diodes with bands away from alarm.

We are getting away from the nitty gritty. In North America alarms flash the side lights  and your side lights also function as turn signal indicators, EVERYWHERE ELSE uses amber lights solely as turn signals front and back.

One day I'll post a (long) thread on the differences (although they are becoming fewer) and the differences between your alarms and our Cat I alarms.

Australia is an interesting market with a US/Japanese product mix to United Kingdom  specifications
