polar 5 button remote car starter

I have a 2003 Nissan Maxima bought used and the key fob is checkered black and silver and says Polar (Polarstart?).  I can't make out the numbers on the back.  It has 5 buttons and the trunk open, door lock and unlock buttons work.  The button on the right which looks like a stop sign doesn't do anything that I can tell, and the car starter button in the middle (looks like a snowflake) worked last Spring but won't start the car now.  When I try to start the car by pressing the middle button, the lights flash bliiiiiink blink-blink, on one fob but the other fob does nothing.  I have had the batteries checked in both.  It must be locked out but frankly I can't make any sense of the instructions on the other postings.  Can someone explain it to me in ludite English?  Even better, tell me where I can get service, or info from a dealer, etc.  It's getting cold here.Debby

That's exactly it.  I don't know if there is anything wrong with it.  It started the car a few months ago but now it will only lock and unlock the doors and open the trunk.  Do you know how to program it or where I can go for help?Debby

Thanks so much for putting up the picture and the other info.  I scrolled down and someone has posted some advice I think I can understand.  I can't wait til my car gets back so I can try it.Debby
