I have a CS260M manual

Arming Procedure

1. Vehicle must be running by key.

2. Parking brake must be set

3. The on/off switch must be on

4. Press button 1 on the remote, park lights come on

5. Remove ignition key. (engine continues to run until run time expires or is shut off)

6. Open the door

7. Exit vehicle

8. Close the door

9. Lock doors, either by remote or manually

10. press button 1, with 4 secs press button 2.  vehicle will shut down, the doors will lock, park lights will flash 3 times, status LED flashes armed code(if installed)

Remote starting is now armed

That is directly form the user guide..

If your dome light turns on after the doors close, then that's your problem. The systems thinks that after you closed the door, it opened again thus cancelling ready mode. You will need to relay isolate the dome light wire from the switch to the Command Start and from the BCM as well.
