mariner escape hybrids, remote start

has anyone done a remote start on a mariner/escape hybrid ? any wiring   bypasses or modules i should need   l have a customer that wants one   thanks in advance JoeIf i Can't Install it    I Don't need it   Joe

From what I have been told you should not touch a hybrid. But i could be wrong

What is the point of putting a RS in a Hybrid vehicle anyways.  If you're buying a vehicle that is supposed to be "kinder and gentler" to the environment what's the point to leaving it sitting there running for 15 or 20 minutes every day? Think. It's not illegal yet.

The wiring should be the same for a R/S as a non hybrid. Its ok to work on these vehicles. Don't be scared because its different. I've done starters in a prius and highlander hybrids before and they are fine. Just stay away from the electric motor batteries and the large orange loom. This has a LOT of voltage running through it and would give you a little more than a nasty shock if you shorted it out.

Wiring wise for a starter the escape hybrids are identical.. Obviously no tach wire to be hooked up so if your units tachless mode is iffy, don't bother. As mentioned watch out for the orange loom I believe it is 650VAC..

ok um how about when the gas motor shuts off wont the r/s restart it ? its a ford add on remote start   made by code alarmIf i Can't Install it    I Don't need it   Joe

If the remote starter has the ability to shut off engine checking you need to do that too. DEI units can do this I know, but Code, I'm not sure about.

the only difference on the hybrids is that you need a remote starter that doesn't sense the engine.  you cannot use voltage sense either.  both autostarts we sell have this feature.  the compustar pro series and the new scytek units.
