viper 160 xvl horn connection?

I just had the viper 160 xvl installed in my 2006 Kia Sportage(4 cyl) and when I first tried everything out I noticed that the horn did not honk when I locked the doors, which was how it was with the original control. When I asked the installer about this he told me that my car didn't have a horn output so it wasn't possible...Can this be true or did the guy just forget to connect the horn and told me this to brush me off cause it'll mean more work for him??? I really want to know...Any advise would be appriciated!

the installer should install the horn. he is just cutting corners to save time for himself and the cost of a relay (since horn is basic setup). the horn wire is avaialble on all cars. the wire is BLUE (-) located high up in the drivers kick panel. if u want to get it installed, bring it back and tell him or manager that you want the horn working.  it should be installed for no charge.

On that model the wire is (-) brown 18 awg wire off primary harness of remote starter module. If it was hooked up it could be programmed not to honk unless you hit AUX then the lock or unlock button, which will only activate that horn chirp that time. Each time you want it to sound you would do that but if it wasn't hooked up then it probably will be on when it is hooked up.
This can be hooked up without a relay needed, the shop where I work is an authorized DEI dealer.
I have been installing DEI units since about 1996 and really no big change in wire code.
You probably can find that blue (-) horn wire in column near ignition harness.
The wire I'm test'n isn't doin' what it's supposed to be doin'... I am so glad I printed that tech sheet, with the wrong info.
Do it right the first time... or I might have to fix it for ya

I will definitly bring this to their attention when I go back in a couple of weeks to get new speakers installed. It really sucks when some installers do these things. Seems like it's quite common practice to not be forthcoming or very thorough. But then again, they're busnesses-you can only expect so much from them, and I too should have researched and been more vigilate. Anyway, I kind of knew they were B**S****ing me...Thanks a lot! I won't let them get away with it! (:

A lot of the time installers follow the lead of their boss. I on the other hand try to lead my boss in the right direction but in the end, I still work for him so if he says to not hook up something or to not solder because he wants it done quickly then that is what I have to do because ultimately... he is in control of my employment and signs my paycheck.
When I worked for myself it was a different situation. I soldered about 90% and crimp connected the other 10% and no twist and tape at all. I tried to hook up all options that would be usable if the product itself could do it without major time and additional parts.
