Well I got my car back from inspection on friday. The first bit of bad news was the tie rods had to be replaced. My friends dad did the inspection at his shop, when I came to pick up the car he tells me teh good news is "that im still alive" he barely touched the tie rods and they just fell apart....THAT would have been fun if they went when I was goin around a turn at like 40. Becasue of this my bill was considerably more then I thought it would be (I also go the exaust and other misc things done).
Second thing, there is a LARGE hole in the drivers side floor of the car, most of the footwell is either gone or all rotted out, im not really sure how I didnt notice it before. Now I need to get some sheet metal and make myself a new floor becasue right now my carpet is just sitting on the catalytic converter pretty much. Anyone ever patched up a hole like that before?? Any advice?? i guess this is what I get for driving a 17 year old car that has been in or around Buffalo, NY its whole life...

...it's a good place to toss out the beer cans.  Leave it alone!

Get yourself over to someone who welds, like a body shop.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

use a sheet metal square & rivet the sucker on. make sure you get rid of allot of the rust. then apply fiberglass to seal it properly. this shouldn't cost too much to do.

Yea, I hate rust, Im also in the process of doing bondo on a couple holes on the body of the car (the worst beng by the front fenders). I just hope this car last me awhile, so when it comes time to buy a new car I can get something newer that has no rust.
