Ive done alot of mobile electronics installations and also used to work in the roadshop. I quit and got into a little trouble with dealing drug ( I know very stupid). I want to get back into installing, so my question is will my background really effect my future career? I can get MECP certified no problem, its just this one stupid mistake holding me back. Any help would be nice thanks.

Honesty goes a long way with most people. If you are up front with everybody, then you have a pretty good chance...as long as you are a good installer and are not still caught up in the nefarious activities of your past.

It all depends on the shop. I got into mobile Installations because i had gotten into too much trouble withthe law. Same thing, dealing. But i was like forget jail and i went and got certified and got a job pretty much on the spot. As long as your certified, work hard and are honest most employers will respect that and give youa chance.
