alrighty, im currentling driving a 99 escort se, not something i want to work on building up, so i plan on selling it for about $2000, that leaves me in a price range of $3000 and under,
i wanna know what car i could "customize" in the near future that i could "possibly" find in that price range
I almost got a celica but it was an auto with no pw or pl so i turned it down, im looking towards celica/prelude/older supra/civic/eclipse/and other kinds of cars that have performance/audio/visual capabilities without completely making a fiberglass kit at home
i just cant think of any other cars that are "moddable" nowadays that are within a highschool kids budget
btw i leave in 7 months for basic training for the navy, and i want a car i can modify once im out, but i need to get it now so my gf has wheels to drive while im gone, so dont say like bentley, cadillac or things like that

also, since im 18 ive enlisted in the navy, i will be working with aviation electronics/fixing them,
my idea for after i finish my 5 yrs of active duty is to find a job at an airport or something dealing with aviation where they need a technician and have that as my main job, and work in a shop/do car things as a sidejob/hobby
im not sure if thats smart, for sure ill have it as a hobby, but i like working with cars period, the feeling when something works out and is complete is unbelievable, and well... if i could id change my job to something more car oriented in the navy but aviation will benefit with the money i should make

88-91 CRX. Swap for a B-16 or B-18 for the go factor, Checkout the Ground Designs 2000 Blackwidow Wide Body Kit for it. & (as Jeff Chitlot knows) CRX's are some of the loudest stock vehicles in the world. you can find em prety cheap nowadays.

& they sell EVERYTHING aftermarket for these things. Make shure 88-91, NOT the 87 & older

OR look at the 92-95 EG as they are called) Civic Hatchback....you can find em with the B-16 from the factory. & tons of aftermatket available for em.

used to be loud, used to be fast...now I am married LOL

i actually look on craigslist alot, but i need to sell my escort before i can get another car, my cousins buddy has a 94 vw golf for sale at $1200, its got a brand new crate motor/tranny and other parts, he just wants to get rid of it, i think the kbb is $3600+ on the car and hes selling it for 1200 with 2 sets of rims, 15" winter set, and 17" 7-spokes for summer, chances of me getting it seem to be good, ima goto the bank and speak with them about a loan on monday, shouldnt be hard to borrow $1200

alrighty, sold my escort se for $1900 cash, and bought the golf a day later
its a BLACK/ black 1997 Volkswagen Golf Trek, has 200,000 on the body, and 80,000 on the motor/tranny(he swapped the motor with a diff golf)
all it needs are rear struts, and there are door lock issues
also he said it had an alarm but they disconnected it, i read that it may have a stock alarm, but im not sure, he disconnected the alarm because it was going off randomly, so i think something was loose... if it ever gets warm ill check it out
im throwing my 2 type-rs and whatever i can find for an amp, into the back hatch and yeah
