I have a wiring question and I don't know if I need a relay or not. To make this easier I'm going to name the two devices, device one and device two. Now device one and two are on two different curicits , but on both devices they have one push switch where you can operate each device by itself by pushing the button. What I'm trying to do is put a flip switch(on/off) between the swiches where if I put the flip switch in the on postion I can operate both devices with decive two is that possible or I'm going at it the wrong way

If you put the toggle switch, one terminal going to device one and the other terminal going to device two.  With the toggle switch in the on position, and either of the pushbuttons are on, both devices will be on.    Depending on the current draw of the mystery devices, you can do this using a third pushbutton switch and a couple diodes.  1 switch for device 1. 1 switch for device 2.  and a 3rd switch that will turn both devices on.

Well the two devices are a contiental kit and the trunk release on my car they are on different cuircits but are on a 10 amp rating. each of them have a push button switch so you saying if I put a toggle switch between them it will work no problem. I'm thinking that I put the new switch and have the new wires from the switch on the push switch where the devices are connected to the devices. Is that what are you saying. My concern is what if of the push swiches goes out and leaves that curcit on and I use one the other push switch and the toggle is in the on position will that be dangerious

kinda under stand what you are say so the spdt is a toggle and wire that switch on the ends where the devices connect to the ends of the toggle not where  the power source is.

d is for device

adn ts is toggle switch

ps is power is switch

Your picture will work,  Just remember that when the Toggle switch is on, either push button switch will now work both devices.
