I have a small oznium bolt led light at the underside of the hood so when propped opened there's light shinning into the engine bay.
I currently use a pin switch now but because of its location, the weather gets to it causing rust. Making the LED bulb work intermittently. This is where the OE latch comes in. How do I wire the relay to power up the oznium led. And I'm assuming I should place a diode on 86/85.
I have a 2019 Honda Ridgeline. I noticed that that the hood latch has a 2 wire (one black and one green) connector. When I tested both wires, they appear to be negative.
Can someone guide me so I don't risk damaging my ECM.
Thank you in advance.

The wires are too small and I did not want to risk cutting them by mistake. I did test the leads on the connector itself and I get 12v with I "lock" the vehicle.
