i have an air ride technologies ride pro e system for my airride and i would like to add another controller to the system and i need to be able to leave them both hooked up at the same time, but i need to find out how to keep my new controller from back feeding power into my ride pro e brain. there are 8 wires total and each of those wires goes to its own valve (8 wires,8 valves)so i have to isolate 8 different wires from backfeeding. i hope this is not confusing. thanks in advance for the help.

are there relays inside your switch box now? or is it just switches?  also are these wire s your isolating high current or low current?

my ride pro e controller has a brain kinda like an alarm brain and it does have built in relays and my second controller has a handheld switchbow and the cable runs down to a relay box where my valve wires and power/ground wires hookup.

my original controller is hard to use with one hand the buttons are far apart so i want to get a better controller where i have more buttons to control my air ride easier with only one hand. my original controller has my digital pressure guages built into it so i need to keep it for that. also i have a remote control for my airride that works off of the ride pro e brain and if i disconnect the valve wires from it the remote will no longer control the valves so thats why i need to leave them both hooked up.

Why are you worried about backfeeding?  Are you just concerned you will damage the controller?

If the controller has 8 dedicated relay outputs like you said then you won't need any extra isolation, as the relays will isolate the signals.

If you're really concerned about backfeeding you can install some diodes, but you would need to know how much current the solenoid valves pull so you could buy the right sized diodes.

i was told by air ride technologies that if i added another controller i need to diode isolate the first so the brain does not get messed up. i guess i will call them back and get more info.

  If you do use diodes there will be a slight voltage drop to the valve however I dont know how or if it would effect the valve.  What you could do is put the wire coming of the valve to pin 30 on your relay, 87a would go to your pro e brain and 87 would go to the new controller 86 goes 12v and 85 goes to a toggle switch to a ground.  You would have to use a relay for each wire but you could use one toggle switch to turn all the relays on and off simultaneously.  That way each box can control the valves but not at the same time.
