The first thing I would do is disconnect the door jamb switches one at a time to see if the door open indicator light goes out.
This will tell you if there's an issue with one of the switches that may coincidentally be causing the issue.

I don't know how the Sentra door switches work but on many vehicles the door switch is closed when the door is closed.
Disconnecting the individual door jamb switches won't help identify the cause if that is how Sentra implements the door open check.
If the BCM connector was removed to repair the broken wire, perhaps it is not latched properly or an individual contact has been pushed back into the mounting wafer.

As eguru points out, it is important to know what type switches your car uses. Your door switches should show a ground when the door is open.

Be sure to also check the trunk switch (it may be built into the latch assembly). If your testing doesn't reveal a shorted switch, you can test the wires while the switches are disconnected. The door switches only have one wire. They should not test as ground while disconnected. The trunk switch has two wires, one black and one white/green. White green should not be grounded while disconnected.
