I've run into a couple of snags with my install. Does the OnStar, seat memory functions, and 4WD switching run through the stock stereo and/or amp?

to replace the radio, you will need some interfacing to retain Onstar and your chime functions, you will not be able to retain the seat memory though, Soundgate and some other companies make interfacing for your vehicle.

FYI.. Soundgate has confirmed with my installers that for 2005 GM has changed some of the electronics in the Hummer H2 and that they are working on eliminating the glitches with their Digistar. Problem is that their upgrade won't be available for 8-9 weeks. The local GM dealership says that everything is the same. If anyone has the "downlow" on this please post in. Thanks for the feedback guys..Jazzy! Mo! Aloha!

808vip where did you hear that about glitches on the digistar from soundgate, i just helped do an H/U install on an o5 Hummer and used the digistar, we had to call the Soundgate techs for help and they didnt say anything about that, they are coming out with a new digistar-X that is going to take care of the Class 2 and non- class 2 Bose amp setup, no need for there XR4 peice with the new peice.

my installer told me about the "glitches" but here's a copy of an e-mail i just received from Soundgate:
"The radio replacement will cause you to loose your seat memory, there is no solution to retain that. I can tell you that you will not need the
DIGISTAR-B for that vehicle though, the DIGISTAR is the correct part for
your install. Thanks CHET."
Jazz did you remove the stock radio in your install?

if you remove the radio, you will lose the seat memory, no interface will retain this feature. 808vip the digistar not retaining the seat memory is not a glitch, the interface just does not support that function, no interface from any manufacturer will supports the seat memory, yes we removed the factory radio, that is why we used the digistar. The new digistar-x will not support the seat memory either, what glitches in specific have you been told about from the digistar?

well, I'm having problems with my OnStar recognizing the number to dial, it cuts in and out , and sometimes it will automatically dial out. I gave them a copy of your post about finding the right ground and power source but I don't think they did it exactly how you mentioned. They didn't know if you were talking about the Digistar or the H/U.
I'm going to have to talk to my installer and find out exactly what he meant about "glitches" I just assumed he was talking about the problems I am having with my OnStar.

I just remembered..I'm also having problems with the chime that tells you that you don't have your seat belt buckled or if you forget to close your door..it won't shut off sometimes
I think he was referring to that..
Have you come across this?
They're flying out to the CES show this weekend and he said he's gonna fix the problem and complete my install when they get back. Any help would be greatly appreciated so I can give them more info when they get back.
Thanks again Jazzy
