Exactly. Installing a Hands-Free Kit and need the audio to come through the car audio along with a radio mute. It is hard to get the Metra harness and I do not want to special order it just for the codes.

The radio has no support to bring in the phone audio and output it through the speakers. The only accessible audio input on the radio is controlled by a data signal propietary to Ford. It is used for DVD System, CD Changer or Ford Bluetooth Phone kit. No adapters are made that I know of to utilize it the way you want.

However there are still options. There are two pins in the main connector that can accomplish radio muting. Pin 15 (should be RED / BLACK wire) is used to mute radio while engine cranking (positive signal) or pin 20 (Dark Blue) for mute in reverse to hear Parking Aid System not sure if pin 20 is positive or negative, never tested it and don't have book right now.

Most all Fords have the mute while cranking wire that u can use.

Another option is to use the Ford Bluetooth kit if the phone has Bluetooth 1.1 compliance. This kit works great.

Hope this helps you.

I have a 2004 Expedition with the "Premium" factory stereo (no navigation system). Will the kit you refer to work with my '04? Is this a kit from Ford, or a 3rd party item?
I just got a bluetooth phone (Treo650) for myself, and my wife is about to get a bluetooth phone as well (LG PM-325).
Any info or links you can provide so I can purchase the Ford Kit (if it works with my system) I would greatly appreciate.
Thanks!

Yes this kit will work with  all 2004 Expedition Factory Radios and it is a Ford Accessory part available from your local dealer or you can call me. For 100% compatability with all features of the kit the phones you use with it must be compliant with bluetooth version 1.1 or higher.

I have a premium stereo with a socket for aux. input.  I am interested in attaching direct input for my XM Roady2.  Will this work?

Help greatly appreciated
