Hello, does anybody know any alarm security info for an 04 duramax diesel?

i can probably figure out all the ignition wires and whatnot, but i don't know where to start for the wait-to-start wire other than ripping the gauges out.

think the 2000 silverado duramax would be a good point of reference?

Thanks,

Connor

hey connor, as with most new cars, the wait to start wire is difficult to find. its not worth tearing the car apart, the easier solution which works perfect would be a dei pulse timer. its a relay that you basically hook up to the alarm's wait to start, and it will show ground for as long as you program it for, then it shuts down, and the car starts. its a simple hook up, and after a few tries, you can get it to turn off and start as soon as the check bulb turns off. i have done that car recently, and the wiring diagram for it was incorrect, so i just used the pulse timer, it worked out fine.  hope that helps

that sounds good to me, but what about those cold mornings where it takes particularly long to warm the glow plugs?  i don't want it to crank before it's ready, but i'm sure this guy isn't gonna want to wait 10 seconds everytime he hits the button.  are the rest of the connections pretty simple?

i hear i'll also need a 555L and a 456G, i've never done a GM-VATS/passlock system before, though i've done more remote starts in general than i care to count.  is it difficult?

thanks for your help

connor
