Hi. I have a 95 Lumina, 3.4L, and a remote starter installed. It was installed about 7 months ago, but now I have a problem with it. I remote start the car, then when I turn on the key to the run position, the rear defogger comes on, and will not go off until the key is turned off. I press the defogger button, but it stays on, so I leave it going, and it do not go off automatically like it should.          I only get this problem when the car is remotely started. I was wondering if someone can give me some info on the wiring for the rear defogger, so I can trace it to find the problem. Or if anyone having similar problems maybe we can help each other. Thanks you guys!

well apparently your remotestarter has the defrost hooked up and is malfunctioning. It has been a while since i've done a lumina, But if this problem only occurs when remotestarted then u should drop the dash and look to see if u can find a wire going to your defrost button.if u cut that wire (please tape this wire and dont leave it dangling) it should solve your defrost sticking on problem. i also suggest printing out a wiring diagram of a 95 lumina so u dont disconnect something vital to the remotestarts functionability. hope this helps ya laterz

It use to happen maybe once every ten remote starts, but now it's every time. It is not connected to the rear defogger, that I know for sure, because it do not come on until the key is switched to to run position, only after a remote start. It do not come on while the remote starter is operating. It do not come on under normal keyed operation either. Only remote start-key turned sequence.

definitely a weird problem ....i cant diagnosis it over the web sorry...i dont think its a remotestart problem i now think its a defroster button problem...u might have to just disconnect the defoster button or relay, or fuse if u can find it....ussually on the passengers side but theres alot of older cars that did have the fuse and relay on drivers side..sorry i cant help ya anymore than that ...good luck
