by the way this is the baseline model econoline. these are used to make work vehicles. i was told that the vss wire was fiber on the 2005? but the ecm at the firewall looks exactly like last years, is this true does anyone know. i mean it being fiber. or is there still a wire i could test to see if it is vss?? thanks

The VSS is the GRAY/BLACK wire at the PCM located under the hood, next to the brake master cylinder. On diesel vehicles the vss wire is in pin 22, in the top plug in pin #1.

okay everything except the vss was great. thanks the brake wire was actually really easy to get to thought it would be a pain in the neck. there is no grey black at all at the pcm searched every single wire. this is a 2006 by the way they told me it was a 2005 but not sure if that makes a difference or not. now i did find that each wheel has a speed sense wire on it. can i use one of these with the pioneer or will it not get the signal it wants. im new to the pioneer units and am still learning what it wants as far as vss goes, this would be very easy to do if it will work. any info for me at all velocity?? i also found another wire that says speed sense (i have a full ford wiring manual for the car) but in the ford book says specifically not to tie anything to this wire?? not sure why it doesnt say. thanks for all the help velocity!!!!! much appreciated

p.s. the rv is only half manufactured right now so i cant test it for the vss wire that why im trying to find an alternative that i know will work. i would have to wait till its done to test it but they want it done now (i know)
