hey guys, I'm installing a stereo and speakers for a friend, I am an installer but I just want to make sure I have everything that I need, I've never done one of these cars before, so its a 04 soft top corvette z06, I want to replace all 4 speakers but not sure what size will fit properly, also a head unit and possibly an amp for the speakers, so what i need to know is stock speaker size, the + &- for the speakers, and anything that I should know about the factory setup that may cause me trouble...thanks in advance.

If it is the Bose system, the speakers are generally 4" and the (+) & (-) are marked on the back of the speaker with a RED dot for (+)

In some Chevy vehicles the removal of the OEM stereo will not allow the alarm system to function again. I know your suppose to install a module to help retain all functions of the vehicle if removing the OEM stereo system.

thanks for the replies, the actual problem was a fault of my own, I'm ebarrassed to say that I actually managed to plug the gm harness in the wrong way....yup I'm a idiot...anyways I switched the plug around and what do ya know it worked fine, never thought those plugs would go in either way, anyways sounds great now...by the way i used the clarion db755 deck and the clarion srr1685 6 1/2" speakers in the door....sounds great.
