Hello. I'm trying to help my mom out by fixing the stereo in her 1996 Suburban. She just bought it used and I'm still trying to figure things out. It looks like the original owner had a huge stereo system stolen out of it and the wiring was torn to shreds. The have since attempted to reinstall a Delco stero back in there. However, it looks like it isn't the exact stock that is supposed to be in there. The back door speakers don't work at all. The front door and roof rear cargo areas do. Just curious how the original fader worked? Is it still just front and rear or is it front, rear doors, then rear cargo? I'm not sure if I should look for the exact stock replacement or attempt to put an aftermarket in and have it front/rear door along with rear cargos.
Anyway, for now I need the specific wiring for the 6 speaker set up.
Thanks much,
Robert

hi,

the tweeters (with a cap for a crossover) in the doors are in parallel with the other speaker in the door. these are connected to the front speaker outputs of the radio....tan LF+ grey LF- light green RF+ dark green RF-.

the rear 4X10's are on the rear outputs of the radio....brown LR+ yellow LR- dark blue RR+ light blue RR-.

the rear/middle door speaker are connected to an amplifier from the factory (if it's still there) which is located in front of the brake pedal or under the driver's seat. the wiring to the speakers is white and grey (or tan) and red and grey (or tan)... can't remember there...sorry.  the amplifier is turned on via the radio...pink wire i believe.  the input to the amplifier comes from the radio's positive speaker outputs...pretty sure about that.

hope this helps
