This is in regards to a 2000 Honda Civic 2 door.  For some reason the gauges will no longer light up at all.  The dimmer is all the way up, and the "gauge illumination" fuse is good.  What else could it be?

A little background info on it...I installed neon lights via tapping into the cigarette lighter.  I sparked the + and - just once and blew that fuse, replaced it and now it works, but ever since then the gauges haven't lit up at all.  Makes driving at night hard.

Any ideas? Thanks all in advance!

The cig ligher isn't connected to the illumination circuit. If the radio was wired incorrectly you could have the problem though. Post in the audio forum.

Could it be the illumination wire (orange with white stripe) that I hooked up to the existing orange wire back there?

It's not the radio. I cut off the illumination wires simply because they're not needed. I checked every fuse in the fuse pannel with a green light tester, even checked every fuse under the hood in that sub pannel. All were good, even the Instrument Illumination fuse. I took apart the gauge assembly and checked every bulb in the gauge cluster. All were good.
Im at a loss for what to do next. I'm about ready to throw in the towel and take it to a Honda dealer.
Anything else I might have overlooked?
