'99 Durango alarm install problem

ive got almost everything hooked up including the door locks.  i wired it up for a 3 wire positive system but the lock switches on the doors dont work.  i used relays which allow the remote to lock and unlock the doors.  i have the lock/unlock output switch wires from the alarm hooked up to the relays in addition to the motor output wires from the alarm.  the latter 2 wires are spliced into the car's lock/unlock switch wires.  with the motor output wires from the alarm are NOT hooked up, the switches on the doors function, not the remote...when they ARE hooked up, only the remote works.  when i try operating the door switches, i can hear the relays making a clicking sound.  does this mean i should add a diode or a resistor to the wires splicing into the car's lock/unlock switch wires so that the signal from the door switches do not get directed back to the relays?  thanks for any help.  if you need to email me with some info, hit me up at hufdady5@ha80.net

yes...in order for the alarm to operate the door locks, i had to hook up the motor output wires from the alarm to pin 30.  also hooked up to pin 30 was the wire that splices into the car's door lock switch wires.  when i disconnected the motor output wire, the lock switch on the door worked, but the remote did not.  any thoughts??

" ................  i had to hook up the motor output wires from the alarm to pin 30 " from this statement you are saying that you hooked up the output of the alarm's lock / unlock wires to the output 30 of the relay ?? If this is the case, you fried something. There should only be one wire per post on the relay ( excluding 87a which has nothing ). None of the terminals should share wires other than the 12 volt constant of course.Jeff

What does pin 30 test on the relay ?? I'm curious if you have a short in the relay ?Jeff
