The backup camera on my Pioneer avh-2330nex will come on and shut off. It will not power up when the camera button is pressed on the unit. Could this be a weak signal or a bad stereo?

Did you connect the camera power wire to switched 12 volts or did you connect it to reverse wire? In order to use camera view from the deck, you must power the camera via Ignition or accessory.

it's only connected to the reverse power. So I need to connect the accessory wire to it also? Won't that keep the camera powered at all times?

The camera needs power to work. If you want to be able to use the camera view feature of the radio you will need to power it. It will be on the entire time the ignition is powered. If you do not want this situation you may have to use a switch of some sort to power it when you want to use camera view.
