Hi. I have a 2005 tacoma with a kenwood dnx6960 and a raptor brand reverse camera with leds. I currently have it hooked up to reverse light positive and negative, trigger wire to reverse light and yellow rca to head unit. It works fine when putting vehicle in reverse. But doesn't work when pressing the r cam button on the deck. I'm guessing no power to camera since it's not in reverse. How do I wire it so I can access camera anytime thru r cam button the headunit but keep it where camera will only have power when in reverse of r cam button on? I don't want the leds and camera to stay on/have power all the time. When camera is wired to ign and ground, leds stay on whenever vehicle is on and rcam button works. Is there a way to either run diodes or a relay? If anyone have a diagram please let me knknow. Thanks!

When I supply ign power to the camera, the camera stays on constantly and so does the leds on the camera. Trying to keep it from staying on while not using reverse cam. Thanks.

No output exists on that radio to power the rear view camera. You could forget about using the R-Cam button and instead hardwire a switch to select between automatic (reverse gear selected) and manual operation.

I see. What would be the best way to wire it to a switch so reverse lights don't get power when using a switch or what deck would be a better replacement so I can use the r cam button feature? Thanks

Single pole double throw switch. Your truck may have unused spots on the dash for optional equipment. The reverse camera power and the reverse input trigger of the radio need to be connected to the Common terminal on the switch. The Normally Closed terminal would connect to the reverse light wire. The Normally Open terminal to accessory power.
