OK last question I hope. I have a 2003 Impala and I'm going to be hooking up a video system. I have been under the hood and have found a factory grommet in the center of the firewall that is big enough for my wire. When I looked at how I could hook up to the battery I noticed something weird. There are two leads running off of the battery to two bolts the wires coming off of these bolts go into two fuse boxes under the hood. Would it be ok to get ring terminals and hook them to these bolts? They have plastic covers on them that say battery (-) and battery (+). It looks like it should work the wires from the battery to these posts appears to be 4 GA. Thanks for the help.

If and only if those wires are going directly between the battery and the fusebox should you do this, don't take power off any fused ignition source posts.

Yes it is a single wire to the post from the battery then another wire off of the post that goes to the fuse box.
