I have a avic n2 and I"m trying to hook up a external samsung mp3 player. I have the wire that has the rca jacks on one end and a headphone jack on the other. I not sure where to hook it up to, I looked on the back of the head unit and did not see a aux jack but it looks like there's some on the hideaway unit. I pluged the rca jacks into the hideaway unit but nothing. What do I need to do to make it work if anything? Just trying to avoid using a fm transmitter if possible.

Do you have the red and white plugged into the hide-away box part marked A/V input?  You then need to go into the menu of the unit and turn the A/V input on.  The AUX source is different, you want A/V since you have it plugged into the A/V input

Aux is through the IP Bus port, AV in is what you want.

You don't really need it with an N2 or any pioneer AV piece.  Just run it into the AV input

That's true, but I'm already running something else into the A/V input.
