What's the best (non-portable tomtom) navigation system and why?  It may be matter of opinion but I just want to hear everyone. Eclipse vs Alpine, Clarion vs. Pioneer.

IMO i would go with an Eclipse unit (for either a DIN or Double DIN) reason being is that you have the standard 5V pre-AMP output on Most of Eclipse's AVN (Audio/Video/Navigation) models...and with the only unit that doesn't have standard 5V, you can still get it with the addition of a single add-on module. Also, you get the high quality resolution touch-screen with it! Alpine and Pioneer only produce 2V and the resolution on the screens, doesn't even begin to compare to Eclipse...also Eclipse's sound reproduction qualities are so muchbetter than those of Alpine and Pioneer. now as far as comparissons to Clarion...i honestly don't have a whole lot of information about them. but hopefully my input will help you in your decission. best of luck.

thanks i Understand. You heard about the alpine status? I don't know it may be over 4V I mean it has to be over 4V since it's alpines premium line. They claim that their F1 monitor has the highest resolution in the market. What do you think about that together with the 8n27a navigation or whatever the number is. I really wanted XM traffic but Miami doesn't have lane information and I don't know when the city is going to implement that technology. I'm going to be an installer pretty soon and I just want to be well informed so my customers can have great service.
