I am thinking about selling my AVIC-N2 and getting the new N3 model and would like to know what are the differences between them?

For one, I hope they fixed the slow response of the touch screen that the N2 had. Also when looking at Pioneer's website I noticed that the N3 displays the full song names / titles now instead of just 8 characters.

Are there any other differences you guys know of and is it really worth the change over?

Also, can I just swap out the headunit, brain and main harness for the head unit ? Is everything else the same?

Thanks!

LOL, I guess I will have to buy it or try it and see for myself - I really do like the Ipod Interface shown on Pioneer's website and oh yeah I DID notice that it now displays the FULL song names - thats just great.

I really hope that all I have to do is swap out the headunit and the brain with my current N2 setup - that would make things so much easier...

Well, I will let you guys know about it when either when I get to try one out or buy one lol.

The N3 has better iPod and XM functionality.  I think if you upgrade to the latest software DVD's it will fix the response of the system.  I'm not sure about the full title names, but would think that is software as well.  The iPod and XM is a hardware upgrade on the N3 so the only way to get that is to get the N3.

I would try upgrading to the latest software first and see if that resolves your issues.  Take a look at the modding/haccking N2 thread in the Navigation forum.  It will show you how to upgrade to the latest software.
