I have had my AVIC N2 for a year and loved it. Just recently my faceplate buttons stopped working with the exception of the the volume and eject buttons. Now the touchscreen works intermittently and the same goes for the LCD screen. I can still activate the main screen when I touch it, but it's blacked out. Is there connection problems with the faceplate pins or touchscreen wiring to motherboard. Any advice please.

By the way. I've been a long time reader, thanks to everyone who posts.

The part you need is available from Pacific Coast Parts 1-800-421-5080

The part number is  GXX1257    40 bucks plus shipping   it is the ribbon cable that goes from the deck to the display.

It may not be something you want to tackle yourself.  If not I would call 1-800-PIONEER and find out if they have a warranty center near you, if they do call them and give them the symptoms you are having and they should right away be able to tell you what the problem is.  If they are fumbling around and having no idea what you are talking about try another center.

Thanks for the reply. I just opened up the unit and found the ribbon between the faceplate and the main unit kinked. Is this the one? I checked continuity and it looks good. The big ribbon between the touchscreen and the motherboard appears to be intact and undamaged.

The white cable being kinked is normal, that is not a problem

The big cable is the problem          You need to look very close to where the stress point is where it enters the display.   Every time the display opens and then closes it really taxes the cable.

yeah found it, it just broke! Cool man, thanks. One more question. Is this fix going to solve the faceplate button problem as well?

This will fix the buttons that are mounted on the screen  I don't recall which buttons are on the screen   but there are some on the top of the screen when it is open and some on front when it is open.  If you are talking about buttons on the bottom half of the radio these from what I remember, are not affected by that cable.

Cool    Glad to help             The only thing you need to be careful of is to make sure you have the cable positioned correctly when you set it down.  The adhesive is really good     it is not easy to unstick and move.
