Just wanted to see how you guys did this year as far as sales/installs during/after Christmas as compared to last year. My opinion is that it it would be lower compared to last year. I don't own a shop so it's just an opinion in general.
Overall we did 33 % more in sales than last year to date. The month of December we did 44 % more than last year for the same time. It was a very good year for us.

We had 18 inches more water in the shop than we did last year.
A flood kinda cut into any potential increase in business.

How's the consumer electronic market in Canada generally? We Yanks have totally tanked our tappable cash with this whole 'subprime' mess. Everyone is complaining about how sluggish high end electronics have been this season -Circuit City has lost like 20% over last year and Best Buy is down like 10% - so I find your numbers fantastical - has this largely passed Canada by?

Typically the Canadian market is 2-3 years behind the US market but in our area we have alot of out of country money coming into the town because of high influx of German, Russian & eastern countries immigrating into our economy.
I believe that with this increase in population from outside of country sources, the economy will not be affected as sharply as other parts of the country.
