I need to install a trailer brake controller on a 2003 silverado . Are these trucks pre wired from the factory ? This is probably a dumb question and the wrong place but i thought id ask anyway . thanks in advance.

hi,

assuming it has a factory installed trailer hitch, i'd say yes.  there's a junction box on the floor, against the firewall, in front of where your left foot would go.  remove the cap nut that holds the cover in place.  on the top row second connector position (from the left side) is the electric brake controller hookup. it's also labeled inside the above mentioned cover.  there maybe a connector pigtail somewhere in the truck, glovebox?  it may even explain more in the owner's manual for the truck.
