Hi, I am  trying to connect a Tachometer in my 92 honda civic but, the tach uses a negative pulse and my car have a positive signal, I read the book and says is the blue wire coming from the distributor, but that wire has 12v.  is there any other place to connect my tach wire? do I need to buy additional parts? any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

How much horsepower does your '92 Honda Civic have?

Have you tried hooking it up to the blue wire just to see if it would work?  What does the blue wire read when the motor is actually running (I'm sure you realize that a tach signal can't be metered with the motor off).

Thanks for the response,

Yes I actually have the blue wire attached to the Tach and I drive the car every day, only the lights come on but, rpms won't work, I am sure I have a good ground connection, I tested the blue wire with my voltometer  (AC reading) and when I depress the accelerator the reading will go up, so I am assuming blue wire is ok.  my tach should be ok too since is new.

I don't know how much HP my car has

Thanks.

using a complicated tool like a test light will show that the blue wire has a pulsing look top it at idle

The blue wire has pulsing, when a raise my car's rpms the voltage changes but my tach won't read it.
