’05 sts accessory source?

I'm hard wiring a Detector and Jammer into an 05 STS and have used the "Outlet" feeds as a source before (once the fuse was moved in the under-hood panel from the batt to the keyed position).

Trouble is, in this car although there are the 2 positions in the box for both outlet fuses, neither converts them to keyed power. In the original position they are constant power, in the other they have No Power at all :)

So, what's the best place to grab a clean, keyed power source that won't interfere with this very complicated electrical system. I figure I could trip a 30A relay with a reed relay connected to a large ACC source without drawing much power. There by converting a battery source to Keyed.

Or maybe build a simple circuit that would "see" the 12v go to 14v when the engine started, but, is all that really necessary?

Does anyone know of an easier place to, safely, draw accessory power from in a 2005 STS?

Behind the glovebox is the Instrument Panel Module. There is a 26 pin plug in which you'll see a small pink wire at pin 6 (reads as ignition). Or, for accessory, the 24 pin plug at position 7. You can't load these circuits so use it to drive a relay which feeds your circuits.

Thank you Very Much - do you think the current draw from a regular 30A relays coil is more than I should connect to that circuit or should I use a reed relay to energize the 30A coil just to be safe? (we used to do this to the old cell phone "horn alert" output)

Also, why doesn't somebody make a "voltage sense" trip to be used, universally, in these situations (voltage increase w/engine on). It'd be a real quick way to convert a Batt to IGN power source.

If you have the reed relay....use it.

As far as the voltage trigger is concerned, try the TR4 or TR7 from PAC 

Once you've tried the PAC, you'd want to keep a couple in yer toolbox.

I actually Have used a TR-7 before, it just never occurred to me that such diverse device could be used for such a simple thing as a "voltage sense" switch, and maybe for the $20 I will go that way!
