bdog r. starter in 99’ Montero

I'm installing a bulldog remote starter (rs114) in my 99 Mitusbishi Montero (not the sport). I've got three problems.

1. How/where do I find the "green brake input) wire?
2. How do I route the hood pin switch wire through the fire wall?
3. Where do I mount the hood pin switch in engine compartment? I broke one of these already. If a better spot exists, that would be helpful.

Any help would be appreciated.

The brake wire will be at the top of the brake pedal. The wire that has 12 volts when the brake is pressed is the wire that you want. To route the wwwwwwire for the pin switch you need to drill a hole down low in the floor pan.( the area where the flat floor starts angling up) The fire wall is sorta tricky to get through on this vehicle. I mount the pins on this vehicle on the passanger side but you can put them anywhere that they will hit the hood. Good luck on the install. Brian

I was able to finally get this thing working.

The brake wire thing turned out a little tricky. Its almost impossible to get to with two hands. Luckly, there was some kind of cable input thing hanging off the switch. It had two wires running to it. One was green with red dots (I think). I tested that one, and it tested positive only when I depressed the brake. I put a spade connector on the end of the wire from the bulldog harness, plugged it in the connector (laying on my back and squeezing my arm up over my head) connected the power and harness to the bulldog...pressed the button..and IT WORKED!!. Geeze it only took me a year to get this project done.

I did not install the hood pin switch. The unit works without it, and I wasn't crazy about drilling a hole in my floor pan.

I did discover that when the factory alarm is on, the thing does not work, only the alarm goes off. Now I have to connect the FASD wire to the unit. Wish me luck.
