security light comes on when remote started

I have installed a remote starter on my 2000 cavalier with 2 relay's and a resistor to bypass the pass lock II security system.  The security light comes on when I start the car with remote and then stays on even when I insert the key and press brake but besides that the car is fine. If nobody can answer that, how about this. Let's forget the remote starter for a sec.  When I start my car with the key then cut the thin yellow wire for the pass lock II the security light comes on (on the dash)even if I connect them back right away the security light stays on!  My question is how can I cut this yellow wire and not cause the security light to come on?  As you can see in the post above I need to cut that yel. wire to bypass the passlock II security sytem to remote start my car!  So how can I have that wire separated but have it think it's still connected? (that sound stupid but I hope you get the point)so that the security light will not come on when i remote start
the car.  S if anybody has any suggestions PLEASE post them I really want to finish this job.  Again here is the mothod I used to bypass the passlock II.

Did you measure the resistor before you installed it into the relay ? If what you had in the previous post is correct your value would = 2200 Mohms !? ( the silver would be a GRAY ). If you were to have a single resistor the colors should be BROWN / GRAY / RED / ( GOLD or SILVER , preferrably GOLD ) = 1800 ohms = 1.8 kohms.

Check to see that the resistor that you put into the relay is actually close enough to 1.755 kohms and post your results.

Sorry Jeff, my mistake I gave it to you backwards, if you calculate that as BROWN / gray/RED / red that would = (1 + 8 + 00 = 1800)

and when I say I measured the resistance on the car, I mean I cut the yel wire and measured btween the yel (ignition side) and black to get 1.755

But because the car is staying running after remote start,doesn't that indicate that the resistor I am using is fine?  Not to mention the security light comes on also when you start the car normally with the key.  Resistor in place or not, as soon as you start the car with that little yellow wire cut in half, you get the security light.

Just because the car stays running doesn't mean that the resistance is right. Sometimes the value has to be almost right on the money for the " SECURITY " light not to engage. Most the the GM systems gives you a range of error that will still allow the car to start but the security or check engine light goes on if it's outside the allowable range. Try to add another resistor in series of the other resistor to get a value that will be even closer to 1.755 and use the resistors with a GOLD band at the end as these are 5 % tolerance resostors that will give more reliable value. Give this a shot and see if this will help any. Couldn't hurt.

BTW: Where do you get 1800 ohm resistors from ?? I usually have to make my own and I've never seen a 1800 ohm resistor before.

I got exactly 1.755K with 3 resistor's set up in series with the last band being RED which is 2%, so it's even better then GOLD. 

Now when I start the car with remote the security light does not come on anymore but as soon as I put the key in the ignition it comes on.  And if you start the car with just the key the light comes on then too. 

Can't I hook up a relay that will connect the two yellow wires once the car is started?  (By two yellow wires I mean the thin one that is now cut in half)

Does anyone have any input to give me, even if you don't have the solution.

I just need someone to let me know if there is anything I could check, or anything I should try....any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
