Rockford Corporation Acquires MB Quart
Tempe, Ariz. – Rockford Corporation is excited to announce that it has reached a definitive agreement to acquire high-end German mobile, home theater and professional audio manufacturer MB Quart Akustik GmbH. Rockford, with name brands Rockford Fosgate, Lightning Audio, InstallEdge.Com and Q-Logic in the mobile audio market, Hafler in the professional audio market, and Fosgate Audionics in the home theater market, expects MB Quart (Obrigheim, Germany) to strengthen Rockford’s overall product portfolio in these areas as well as help deepen its penetration into key European markets.
Gary Suttle, president and chief executive officer of Rockford Corporation, said, “We are pleased to join forces with such a highly respected company as MB Quart. With such a solid reputation in the mobile, professional and home theater markets, as well as its stronghold in the European sector, we felt that they would be an exceptional addition to Rockford alongside our other industry-leading name brands. With the additional financial and operational support from Rockford along with MB Quart’s already strong management team and marketing initiatives in Europe, we at Rockford look forward to expanding their business while at the same time growing Rockford and gaining market share in the high-end car audio category as well as in home theater.”
Martin Troche, general manager of MB Quart GmbH, adds, “MB Quart is a worldwide leader in the development, engineering, manufacturing and marketing of premium loudspeaker products and technologies, as is Rockford. We believe that by partnering with Rockford, we can become one of the foremost audio companies in the marketplace today.”
Troche adds that although MB Quart Akustik GmbH will become a division under Rockford Corporation, it will retain its status as a separate German corporation and the sales and marketing efforts for the MB Quart brand will be managed independently from Rockford’s other divisions.

When I was in MECP school a couple of months ago, they said that MB quart was bought out again, by a chinese company and they expected the quality to fall. You might have the idea right, but the wrong buyer.
