I have a JL audio 12" W3 that i bought..i have a GTi hatchback that i drive and want to put it in this car. Whats a good size box and wattage amp that can drive this sub hard..i dont want to blow it but i want it to thump nice...i hear that sealed boxes are the best for these subs..is this true?

well i not very found of jl audio. but if you are looking for a good box. play around with different types. you ears are you best tool. i perfer ported because you can tune the box to the best fequency.  any amp around 500 watts should do good. as long as you set you gain control in the right place you will be fine. and always rember it is bad to under power a speaker than over power it.

for a good box for a JL contact audio enhancers( i can't find the number right now) they have pre-made boxes for JL's they are rectangular in shape and come with a square port. they sound good with any sub, but are designed for JL's

the box runs about 80 bucks carpeted and about 65-70 uncarpeted.

the model number for the box is VJL100 for a ten and VJL120 for the twelves. you can also go to any circuit city and have them order it for you.
