I have installed 2x12s in my trunk.  My amp that powers them has three settings on it: Frequency, Bass Boost, and Gain.  I have a Kenwood Excellon 815 head unit which seems to have all the nonfadable channel controls that I need.  My question is how do I tune it to get the right bass levels in my car.  I have a 2001 Beetle which is a hatchback.  I have taken my car to a few local car audio shops and each guy made it sound really bad.  I listen to mostly rap and techno.....  Can anyone give me some advise?

We need to know what kind of subs you have. (model number?).  Also what type of enclosure they're in and preferably the enclosure's dimensions.

I have 2 Premier dvc 12s in a sealed box.  Each sub has its own air space at about 1.2 cubic ft.

Okie well at least you've got basically the correct volume.

What do you mean when you say it sounds bad?  Distorted?  Too punchy?  Resonating?  Too muddy?
