I'm mostly wondering how your getting the HS over your solder jobs. Are you disassembling one end of the wire harnesses? Please don't think of me as a idiot I've been soldering and doing RS head units and key less entry for 2yrs now with only one goof up (damn being color blind).

You will have to either cut the wire, slide the tubing onto the wire, then solder wire back together along with the wire you need to attach to it, or as you stated remove the pin from the plug and do it that way.

If you don't have loose ends to slip the tube over, it's more work. I do solder all of my connections, but for taps where I don't cut the wire, I just tape them.
