ok guys heres my problem, i want to buy new guages for my car (autometer sport comp to be specific) however i have a problem with the fuel level guage.

the short sweep ($60 cheaper and matches all my other guages) all come in preset ohm resistances, the only adjustable one is full sweep (non matching and $60 more)

my stock fuel guage is as follows: Empty=105 ohms, 1/4 tank=65ohms, 1/2 tank=35ohms, 3/4 tank= 19 ohms, Full=7ohms.

the closest short sweep autometers are 240ohms empty and 33ohms full, or one that reads 73 ohms empty and 10ohms full.

is there any possible way i would be able to make one of those work? thanks in advance for any help

you'll have to swap out the fuel sender for an aftermarket one. 10-240 is the standard aftermarket fuel sender range. autometer sells it seperate or you can get one at any CARQUEST, NAPA, AUTOZONE, CHECKER type store. they are universal in the fit and can be adapted for any tank depth.
