I have a rear spoiler with 20 LEDs (brake lights) integrated. It is no longer attached to the car, but I would like to figure out how to give it new life as a wall lamp that I could plug into a typical outlet.
The electrical connector is available, but I'm not sure how to integrate with it.
I have no idea where to begin, so any words of advice are greatly appreciated!

There used to be universal transformers, where you can select the polarity and voltage to a variety of different plugs. I can't think your lights will consume much amperage, so a 2.5a 12v transformer should be fine.
If you look around in your junk drawers you probably have a low amp 12v transformer already.

You were right--I did find one laying around!
INPUT: 120VAC 60Hz 200mA
OUTPUT: 12VDC 500mA
Hopefully those numbers look good. Now I guess it's just about getting the two wires going into the spoiler's electrical connector to connect to the two wires from the adaptor?
I don't want to cut the spoiler connector if I don't have to, so I'll try to find a connector and wire that will connect to that, which I will then connect to the adaptor via a switch (hopefully).
